GreenGo Energy and Doral Energy break ground on 60 MWp solar park in Denmark

GreenGo Energy and Doral Energy are excited to see the construction of Project M110, a 60 MWp solar park in Urup, Denmark taking place. Once operational, the park will have an annual production of 75.5 GWh which is equivalent to green electricity for +18,800 Danish households. It will also help save about 8,800 tons of CO2 annually from the Danish energy production. The solar park will be grid connected through 2024.

The solar park has been designed with a focus on optimising the production of renewable energy. It will be established with a tracker system allowing the panels to follow the movement of the sun, which in turn helps optimise energy production. In addition, greenbelts will be established in and around the park to make the park blend with nature and to minimise the visual impact on the surroundings.

The project was acquired from GreenGo Energy by Doral Energy in 2021, and the Final Investment Decision (FID) has now been taken after successful completion of development. GreenGo Energy have completed the full engineering and procurement for the project and will continue as EPC Manager throughout the construction process, which is carried out by Sunotec and ELTEL (EPC for the High Voltage substation).

This project is the first project to reach construction in our 360 MW portfolio with Doral Energy.

Yaki Noyman, CEO of Doral Energy comments on the perspectives:

"We are excited to see our first solar park in Denmark, out of many to come, being constructed. This project is especially exciting due to the capacity and the possibility to apply the latest in solar PV technology to maximise yield. We appreciate our strong partnership with GreenGo Energy, the local landowners, and other stakeholders on this project."

Karsten Nielsen, Founder and CEO at GreenGo Energy continues:

“We are thrilled to see the construction of the Mermaid M110 solar park in Urup well under way, with grid connection and first power already this year! This is yet another solar park which will help Denmark and the world in the green transition. We view Doral Energy as a long-term growth partner which shares our values and ambitions of accelerating the energy transition.”
