We’re expanding into France to help accelerate the green transition

We are thrilled to announce our expansion into France, a significant milestone in our mission to drive forward the global energy transition. With ambitious plans to develop renewable energy projects, we aim to contribute to France’s national energy goals by delivering innovative, large-scale solutions that help shape a sustainable future.

France has set ambitious targets to decarbonize its energy sector, with a focus on renewable energy development as part of the national strategy. By 2030, the country aims to generate 41,3% of its electricity from renewable sources, with a large portion coming from solar power – PV capacity is expected to reach 54-60 GW by the end of the decade. As we expand our operations into France, we are committed to playing a key role in supporting these targets and help bolster France's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance energy security – a 50% reduction in GHG emissions is intended by 2030 and a Net Zero goal is envisioned for 2050.

One of our primary focuses in France will be the development and future construction of utility-scale solar projects. These projects, capable of generating substantial amounts of clean energy, will provide a much-needed boost to the country’s renewable energy supply - 570 TWh are expected to be consumed from renewable sources by 2030. Our experience in building large-scale solar parks across Europe positions us well to deliver projects that will make a tangible difference to the national grid.

Bringing Innovation: BESS and AgriPV

In addition to traditional solar power, we are excited to bring innovative solutions to France’s energy landscape. Among these are Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and AgriPV.

  • BESS will enable us to store excess energy generated by solar plants and feed it into the grid when it’s needed most, providing stability and ensuring reliable energy supply.

  • AgriPV, which combines solar energy generation with agricultural activities, allows land to serve dual purposes. This innovation not only enhances land use efficiency but also supports local farmers, demonstrating how renewable energy can coexist with traditional industries. The market potential seems also significant – 20% to 45% of installed solar capacity is expected to be agri-PV in the coming years.

However, this isn’t just about energy generation – it is about environmental stewardship. Each renewable energy project we develop will contribute to reducing France’s carbon footprint, offsetting thousands of tonnes of CO2 annually.

Building our team

“Currently, we are in the process of recruiting and staffing up a dedicated development team in France. This team will be at the forefront of project identification, permitting, and community engagement. We are seeking talented individuals who are passionate about renewable energy and eager to make a difference in France’s energy future.” Jean-Christophe Girouard, COO explains.

He continues: “We look forward to partnering with local governments, businesses, and communities to develop sustainable energy solutions that not only support France’s climate goals but also create meaningful economic and environmental benefits. Together, we can build a cleaner, more resilient future for all.”

Stay tuned for updates on our projects, office opening, and recruitment opportunities as we embark on this exciting new chapter in France’s energy transition.
