GreenGo Energy and Doral Energy celebrate milestone with completion of 60 MWp solar park in Urup, Denmark
Urup solar park, Denmark
GreenGo Energy is proud to announce the successful completion of its largest solar park in Denmark to date, a state-of-the-art 60 MWp facility located in Urup, Jutland. The park is now fully connected to the grid and operating at full capacity. This landmark achievement underscores the collaboration between the two companies, reinforcing their shared commitment to advancing renewable energy and contributing significantly to Denmark’s green transition.
Designed and built with cutting-edge technology, the solar park features advanced tracker solar panels optimized for maximum energy production, adapting to the sun's movement throughout the day. By harnessing the latest innovations in solar engineering, the park ensures the efficient generation of clean, sustainable power while seamlessly integrating into the natural surroundings with thoughtfully implemented greenbelts. In addition, the solar park is collocated with a wind park, optimizing land usage and minimizing its environmental footprint for the benefit of local communities. This facility will be able to generate and supply electricity to approximately 6,500 households, make a meaningful contribution to environmental preservation and Denmark’s renewable energy goals.
“This project is a testament to our dedication to developing impactful renewable energy solutions. This solar park not only highlights our technical capabilities but also reflects our commitment to sustainability and our confidence in the Danish market and its growth potential,” said Jean-Christophe Girouard, COO of GreenGo Energy. “As the largest solar park we’ve developed, built, and commissioned in the country to date, it represents a major milestone in our journey, with more ambitious projects already on the horizon.”
The project is owned by Doral Energy, a leading company in renewable energy investment, development, construction and operation. With its expansive portfolio of solar and storage projects across multiple continents, Doral is committed to driving the global shift toward a more sustainable future. Speaking on the occasion, Yaki Noyman, CEO of Doral Energy, remarked, “We are thrilled to see this project come to fruition and make a meaningful contribution to the transition toward clean energy. Collaborating with GreenGo Energy on this remarkable solar park has been a rewarding experience, and we look forward to further advancing sustainable energy together.”
Denmark is steadily advancing toward its 2030 climate goals, driven by a robust renewable energy strategy. GreenGo Energy is proud to contribute to this transition, with additional photovoltaic (PV) projects already under development to support the nation’s green ambitions.
This solar park not only highlights the environmental benefits of renewable energy but also its potential to drive economic growth. By reducing carbon emissions and fostering sustainable energy solutions, projects like this are essential to achieving Denmark’s climate targets.
At GreenGo Energy, we remain dedicated to renewable energy innovation, actively developing large-scale projects that will redefine the energy landscape in Denmark and beyond.
