GreenGo and Skovgaard Energy start construction of new solar farm

GreenGo is pleased to announce the start of construction of a 48MWp solar park in Ramme near Lemvig in Denmark. The project will reach commercial operations by the end of 2022.

The Ramme 48MWp solar park is an integral part of a pioneering project where hybrid wind and solar generation on-site are combined. The solar park in Ramme has been developed in a partnership with Skovgaard Energy, one of the Danish wind pioneers and largest on shore wind asset owners in Denmark.

Jørgen Skovgaard, Founder and CEO of Skovgaard Energy comments: ”We see the addition of a solar facility as the next development step after our long experience in wind energy, and we have been very pleased to partner with GreenGo on the realization of this solar park“.

Karsten Nielsen, Founder and CEO of GreenGo comments: "We are excited now to reach start of construction of this significant solar park, which is the first GreenGo project combining wind and solar technologies. It is an honor to work with one of the renewable pioneers in Denmark on such an important project. The combination is ideal for future PtX facilities such as hydrogen or other green fuels that are so critical for the energy transition to happen in a broader sense”.

The solar park has been engineered by GreenGo to include the latest in PV technology, including bi-facial module technology implemented with horizontal tracking systems. The latest technology in superstring inverters have been integrated for the project to achieve the highest energy yield and lowest cost of energy.

GreenGo has performed the initial electrical studies to ensure compliance of the combined solar+wind system to the grid requirements. In addition to the procurement of the key equipment, GreenGo will manage the construction of the solar park. The project will be a landmark demonstration in Denmark based on hybrid wind and solar on-site with shared grid connection.
